It is with great pleasure that we are able to formally announce that HorseHeard is now a charity. HorseHeard started life as a Social Enterprise and worked successfully for three years but it became increasingly apparent that there were advantages for our clients and us in becoming a charity. This change in status presents us with an exciting opportunity to generate funds to support and run many more life-changing equine-facilitated learning programmes.
Earlier this year the CEO, Heather Hardy, began the process of converting HorseHeard to a charity. With the support of the HorseHeard Management Committee she carefully worked on the requirements set out by The Charity Commission. This was a major task but entirely justified in order to meet the necessary standards of holding charitable status.
Now we can proudly add to our correspondence:
“HorseHeard a registered Charity number 1166682”
As a charity we can now more effectively engage with other charitable organisations that may wish to benefit from the fantastic work we do and we are also better placed to bid for sponsorship and funding that will enable to deliver benefit to young people and disadvantaged others.
Our full charitable objective is:
‘to promote positive emotional health and well-being to children, young people and adults in need through equine facilitated learning, to improve their quality of life’
Now we are ready after some very successful fundraising activity over the Spring and Summer to engage with schools and organisations who wish to help us deliver our objective.
Please let us know of any organisation you think might be interested.
